<주문할 때 유용한 영어패턴>

크림치즈가 들어간 (일반) 베이글을 주문하고 싶어요.

I’d like to order a plain bagel with cream cheese.

=I’d like to get a plain bagel with cream cheese.

 

I’d like to order a larger pizza. 

 

이거 교환하고 싶어요.(직접적인 표현) → (공손한 표현)

I want to exchange this. → I’d like to exchange this.

 

카드로 결제하고 싶어요.
I’d like to pay with a card.

 

I’d like to pay for your drink. 

2. Do you happen to? 혹시 ~ 하세요? 

-질문을 조심스럽고 공손히 할 때

Do you know ~? →  Do you happen to know ~?

Do you have ~? →  Do you happen to have ~?

 

Do you happen to know a Dr. Palmer?

 

혹시 그분이 사무실에 계시는지 아세요?
Do you happen to know if he’s in the  office?

 

Do you happen to know a good Englisg tutor? 

 

혹시 그 분의 전화번호 가지고 계세요?

-모르는 사람에게 질문하거나 말을 걸 때 사용

-Excuse me보다 공손한 표현

– 무언가가 가능한지 문의할 때

– 식당, 매장, 호텔 등에서 무엇이 가능한지 물어볼 때

6. If possible ~ 가능하면

– 요청을 공손하게 할 때 

 

가능하면 창가 쪽에 있는 테이블로 주시겠어요?

가능하면 예약을 변경하고 싶습니다.

가능하면  Dr. Valerie를 만나고 싶습니다.

7. Am I allowed to~? ~을 해도 되나요?

-허락을 구할 때 사용하는 패턴, 규정상 허용이 되는지 물을 때 사용

-Can I~? (단순히 무엇을 해도 되는지 허락을 구할 때)

*Allow 허용하다, 허락하다
